Today's post will be slightly different to the previous ones. This is time for something really sweet!
So keeping it short, below are all the ingredients you will need:
120g of butter
1,5 glass* of white sugar
2 big eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
110g of a dark chocolate (75% would be the best in my opinion)
250g of flour
35g of coco
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1,5 glass* of milk
*the glass I use is 250 ml
And for decoration:
300ml of thick cream (30%-36%)
300g of sweet chocolate (if you don't like to sweet you can mix dark with sweet one)
a bit of pomegranate and almonds
Now the step by step process:
Preheat your oven to the 165ºC.
Melt chocolate in the microwave or in the hot water (Make sure the water don't get mixed with the chocolate!)
In one of the bowls mix together all the dry ingredients (sugar, vanilla, coco, flour and baking soda)
In the other mix eggs with butter until they are smooth. Then while still mixing it add slowly melted chocolate (let it cool a bit before it).
When the chocolate is added, start putting into the mixing mixture dry ingredients and swap it with the milk, so it's easier to blend.
Leave it for around 5 mind to mix it so the cake is smooth.
Meantime prep your baking form, it can be square or round as you prefer the one I used yesterday was 21 cm wide round form. Only tip for it make sure the form want make your cake to high, because it can make harder to bake your cake.
When your done choosing what to use, prep it with butter and flower so the cake doesn't sticky to it and it can be easily removed from the baking form, after it's done.
Then pour the cake in to the form and put it the oven (when the oven is on the right temperature) and bake it for 40 or more minutes, try checking it with the wooden stick if it's still wet inside if yes, bake it for a bit longer.
After taking it out from the oven let it cool for 1-2h before you take it out from the baking form and start decorating.
Put all the cream in the pod and heat it up (but make sure it doesn't boil) and then put squashed chocolate in it so it melts and it's smooth, then let it cool a bit, but remember it still needs to be liquid so you can pour it on the cake.
Take big plate and put the cake on it (already out of the baking form and pour the chocolate on it, do it slowly and carefully so it's even on all the edges. Wipe off the access, you can eat it for example or leave it for other decorations.
Let it dry in the fridge for around 1,5h so the chocolate gets sticky so you can add the pomagranate and almonds as your decoration!
It can look as below on the picture or as you wish!
